About Slocum ISD

In the heart of rural South Anderson County, nestled amidst rolling fields and serene landscapes, lies a beacon of educational excellence and innovation. This gem, located 15 miles southeast of Palestine, is none other than our very own Slocum school district, where dreams take flight and futures are forged.

With an Average Daily Attendance (ADA) of 320 students spanning from Pre-kindergarten through Grade 12, our school is not just a place of learning; it's a vibrant community where every individual is valued and empowered to reach their full potential.

One of the cornerstones of our educational ethos is technology.  Whether they're researching, collaborating on projects, or exploring new frontiers of knowledge, our technological infrastructure ensures that no dream is out of reach. But we don't stop at just connecting within our four walls. Our technology and learning equipment extends our reach far beyond the confines of our campus, allowing students and the wider community to connect with other learning centers, fostering collaboration and enriching educational experiences.

For our ambitious juniors and seniors, the world of higher education beckons, and we're proud to offer them a pathway to success through our dual credit college program at Trinity Valley Community College (TVCC). Here, eligible students not only earn high school honors credit but also college credit, laying the foundation for a bright academic future. And to ensure that financial barriers don't hinder their journey, the district provides transportation, fees, and books, ensuring that every student has the opportunity to soar.

But education isn't just about academics; it's about nurturing well-rounded individuals who excel in all facets of life. That's why our students eagerly participate in University Interscholastic League academic and athletic events, showcasing their talents and competing with passion and sportsmanship.

For those with a passion for agriculture and community service, our High School offers opportunities to get involved in FFA and FCCLA, alongside a myriad of other clubs and organizations. From leadership development to community outreach, these extracurricular activities instill values of teamwork, dedication, and empathy, shaping our students into future leaders and changemakers.

In our school district, the possibilities are limitless, and the future is bright. With a commitment to excellence, a spirit of innovation, and a community of dedicated educators, parents, and students, we're not just shaping minds; we're shaping futures. Join us on this extraordinary journey of learning, growth, and discovery, where every day is an opportunity to shine.
