The students in Mrs. Lawrence’s second grade class have been studying about dinosaurs in Science. Students work with a partner to research different kinds of dinosaurs. We learned about carnivores and herbivores, and ways that dinosaurs protected themselves. The students shared their dinosaur research with their classmates and made posters to show what their dinosaurs looked like.
On Monday February 1st, 2010 Mr. Parker’s Physics class participated in a little friendly competition of tennis ball throwing. Each team had to design and build a machine that could throw a tennis ball without any human intervention. The teams were constrained by weight limits and other rules that had to be incorporated into their designs. This lab focused on simple machines and their ability to do work.
“The students showed great enthusiasm for their projects. We had some very interesting entries in to this year’s competition.” said Mr. Parker. “Each team did an outstanding job and should feel good about their accomplishments.” |
