Summary of Regular
Meeting
The March
meeting of the Slocum Independent School District Board of Trustees was held on
July 19, 2012 at 7:00 p.m.
During the
meeting the Board:
- Approved the monthly Business Manager’s Report.
- Received the Superintendent’s Report
which included comments on the district’s Superior Achievement rating for
the10th consecutive year on Financial Integrity Report System
of Texas rating and the recently released Property Value Study Final
Certification.
- Heard a parent’s request.
- Elected John Day to serve as secretary
for the Board of Trustees.
- Received revisions to the student
handbook for 2012-2013.
- Authorized to superintendent to advertise
for bids for the installation of a waste water system.
- Approved student transfer request as
recommended by the superintendent.
- Approved
supply bids for the coming school year.
- Approved an Election Order for November
6, 2012 Trustee Election.
- Authorized the superintendent to enter into
an interlocal agreement for election services.
- Authorized to superintendent to designate
district employees to handle Applications for Place on Ballot.
- Scheduled the Budget Hearing to be
followed immediately by the Tax Hearing on August 23, 2012 at 7:00 p.m.
- Approved student transfer requests as
recommended by the superintendent.
- Approved the employment of a maintenance
worker.
- Approved the employment of a classroom
teacher.
- Received a personal report.
The
next scheduled regular meeting of the SISD Board of Trustees is August 23, 2012
at 7:00 p.m.
